Due to COVID-19 all courses will be delivered in a Blended Delivery Format. All pre-work must be completed prior to coming to the course. We will be having reduced class sizes as well as reduce face to face time. We will be adhering to social distancing and hygiene measures however please feel free to call our office to discuss further precautions and changes to our delivery.

Course Length: One day plus pre-course online component
Course Audience: This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults. The unit applies to educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies. This unit of competency meets the ACECQA accreditation requirements in First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma.
Delivery: Blended delivery
Pre-Course Theory Assessment
This training is delivered in blended delivery format. Participants are required to complete the assessment prior to training as home based learning, independently of the classroom session. The links provided at each question form the course reading and answers to the questions can be found within the links. It is important to read each link to verify understanding of the topic. A link to the assessment will be provided on booking, or click here to view the assessment.
A Course Pack will also be emailed to you in the days after booking, please print and complete. It is a requirement that all pre-work must be completed prior attending the Practical session
Performance and Knowledge Evidence
There must be evidence that the participant has completed the following tasks in line with state/territory regulations, first aid codes of practice, Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines and workplace procedures:
- performed at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) (5 cycles of both compressions and ventilations on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor.
- Performed at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR (5 cycles both compressions and ventilations) on a child resuscitation manikin placed on the floor. READ MORE
SOA (Statement of Attainment)
On successful completion of this course, participants will be emailed a Statement of Attainment in HLTAID004 Provide an Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting, HLTAID003 Provide First Aid, HLTAID002 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support and HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
